advice for speaker auditions at Bristol

Right,

I need to upgrade my surround/HiFI speakers

Blown a rega senta 5 times now, through a properly SPL'd denon 2802.

So, upgrading, both speakers and AV amp.
probably to a Denon 3803, or perhaps Pioneer 2011.

speaker wise, currently considering

Quad 22l, 11l and centres
Stretching to Sonus Faber
or perhaps three pairs of the Wharfedale Pac Evo 40's, having seen the WhatHiFI piece
or ATC, PMC, JM Lab...

Money wise, happy to spend anything from £1500 to £3500 on 6 or seven speakers.

my lounge is rectangular 23 ft by about 16ft, and perfect seating position (bought the house specifically for AV).
Not desperate to get THX spec yet.
Fronts will also be used for HiFI.

Going to Bristol Hifi show tomorrow,
can anyone guide me as to which speaker manufacturers to checkout?

thanks for anyhelp.

I heard the Quads at Manchester and was very impressed but I heard Leema last year at Bristol and they are there again this year. Their little mini monitors are brilliant and are about £450 each from memory. The Leema subwoofer is expensive so skip that but do have a listen and see what you think.

cheers Ian, exactly the kind of response I was after,

Would never had considered Leema, and reckon Bristol is the best/ony real chance of hearing them. Will be there.

I'm going to sound like a stuck record ... but have you considered B&W 600 series?

yeah, had considered 600s, my mate has the series two and loves them.,

I was also considering the series above the 600's, CDM's is it? but reviews didnt seem all that.

Now considering going the whole hog, M&K 850s all round.

Bet B&W and M&K are the busiest rooms in Bristol
