Question Decent AV fronts for around £100

My AV setup is coming together slowly. I've got my 32" Sony, Tosh 220E DVD and Marantz SR4300 amp. I just need the speakers to complete things (I'm using some cheapy panasonic speakers from an old hi-fi).

I intend to to buy the fronts first and buy the centre and rears later. The system will be used more for music than for DVDs but as I probably won't ever buy a sub (on the basis that none at all is better than a cheap one), I need some front's with decent bass.

I'll be spending around £100 on front's. I know its not a lot but I'm not a serious audiophile and can't justify spending major bucks. At the moment I'm looking at Kef Cresta 3's, Eltax Liberty 5's and Mission 771's among others.

I'd welcome opinions on these and others such as Wharfedales.

Thanks.

For the price you are looking at the Kefs would probable do a good job.

What about the Wharfedale Diamond 8.1's? I'm going to use these all round (fronts, rears, centre and rear centre)

I recently got a pair of Mission M73 floorstanders from hifijunkies for £110 and am very happy with their performance. They are selling them ex demo for £89 at the moment which seems pretty good as the rrp of these speakers was £200 when they come out.

Just be sure that the set you get is either shielded or sits at least 30 cms from your telly to aviod picture staining.
