Advise re NXT speakers please .....

Hi I am looking at getting a set of speakers similar to Mission FS1 or Denon SCAV-F100, however I have been advised that the speakers need to plug into the sub and then the sub plugs into the amp via a designated cable. However I already have wires in place under floorboards and within the walls which do not allow for this type of set up.

My question is can anyone advise if I can plug these speakers directly to the amp and then hook the sub to the amp using a standard phono cable?

Mission state that I need to use their cable which I must buy their cable to connect in this way but at £76 for 12metres and then I would need to pull up my carpet and floorboards is not really an option. If someone could advise me I would be most grateful. Thanks.

Re: Advise re NXT speakers please .....

I have Mission 6.1 FS1's and you are correct - the speakers are plugged into sockets on the Sub. There is another lead from the sub which connects to the speaker connections on the amp. Not sure if this is done as a convenience or whether there are some electronics within the sub to drive the NXT panels. Might be worth a call to Mission to see if you could wire them up direct. Even if you can't wire them direct, what's to stop you taking the speaker output from the Sub and connecting it to your existing wiring?
As long as you keep the phasing correct I can't see a problem. The system comes with adaptors to allow extra wire to be spliced in.
I may be upgrading my system (subject to the Boss' approval) so, if you're interested in FS1's, drop me a PM.
