Logitech Z-5500 Fuse problem

Hello,

I'm wondering if anyone here can help me out.

I've had my Z-5500 system for 3 months, love them to bits, but last night when i went to turn it on (i keep it switched off at the back when i'm at work) there was no power going through it

I tried a different power lead, different plug socket, then went to the logitech troubleshooting site, where it told me to check the fuse...

When i took the fuse out (flat head screwdriver, turned in the proper direction, gently!) it made a horrible grindy noise, and now it won't go back in. There doesn't seem to be any thread on the fuse holder for it to screw back in.

I'm not sure what it's supposed to look like, so if anyone here has this system, and has changed the fuse on it look at these photos and tell me if it's right... because i have a horrible feeling the fuse holder is broken sorry about the bluriness btw - bit hard to take a photo of the inside of the fuse bit!

Thank you

Re: Logitech Z-5500 Fuse problem

Looks to me like you need a new fuse holder. Hopefully you only need to change the bit that is broken, but more than likely the need to clean out the broken bits still left in the fuse holder still needs to be done.
Try Maplins for a replacement fuse holder. You need to know at least two things, 1. Fuse rating and 2. size of fuse.

Cheers for the reply Andy. Unfortunately, the other bit of the holder appears to be stuck inside.

No worries though, cos Amazon are sending me out a replacement

Re: Logitech Z-5500 Fuse problem

Are they sending the fuse/holder or a new sub?

I'm contemplating whether to get these speakers or a Yamaha amp/sub and speakers?
