B&W M20 v KEF 3005 - better 5.1 package??
Calling all who own these speakers or experts, can somebody provide some info on which one of these systems is better. I have not yet listened to either yet, just wondering if one stands out based on tech details, giving more bang for the buck!!
can't streth for the MT-30, although allegedly the woofer on that system is amazing.
I'm only interested in a small 5.1 system, moreso for movies, less so for music. Room is not too big so this size system should be ample.
I'm also about to purchase a new receiver, this will be 7.1, so wondering also if both speakers can be bi-amped?
any feedback appreciated.

Re: B&W M20 v KEF 3005 - better 5.1 package??
Not heard the B&W package but i'm more than happy with my 3005s.
Centre channel is excellent and the Sub is spot on when backing up the centre channel and also for the low stuff.
Not bi-wirable though (3005s That is).
Demo if you can is the only way to go if you're not sure..
3005s in gloss black look superb

Re: B&W M20 v KEF 3005 - better 5.1 package??
Heard them both at the Bristol Hi-Fi show last year + the new AE Aego T
I was least impressed with the Kef's (sorry ADC) but the B&W and AE Aego T's where superb. I do not see any benefit in Bi-amping a sat speaker as 99%only have the single driver in them therefore Bi-amping is a no go.

Re: B&W M20 v KEF 3005 - better 5.1 package??
Ive fitted both sets and must say the B&W's are awesome. Neither are Bi wireable, and the B&W's can be a little tempramental at first, but once the creases are ironed out, look out for the goose bumps!
The Kef's are a great setup, dont get me wrong, but IMO the B&W's are a cut above. If your room is small then the MT20 will do just fine.
Little tip if you go with the B&W's: Before you connect them to the amp, test the speakers resistance. The signal cable which runs up inside the speaker bracket can become crimped where the bracket fixes to the speaker, causing a short. Easy to fix at this stage.......A swine if youve connected everything up.

cheers guys.
personally I prefer the looks of the B&W so if I like the sound of them, then I think I've found my preference.

Re: B&W M20 v KEF 3005 - better 5.1 package??
As an owner of two PV1 subs, I have to say that I've never been that convinced my the B&W compact speakers, at least not in my setup. I have demo'd the Kef 3005 speakers several times and have to say I found them impressive. I particularly liked the sub especially as it is half the price/ power of the PV1!

Listened to the B&W and went for the B&W VL1 as they offered more midrange for music. Not as trendy a design but still can be wall mounted etc
