I can highly highly highly recomend these!!! These Logitech's are absolutely amazing. (I should know I have got 2 pairs in my house). The sub on them is unbeliavble for £75 its a bargain! You want bass get these. they are brilliant!!

Basically get them lol.

that model claims 35hz as the deepest, which isnt bad for a PC system...

the Altec Lansing MX5021 for £100 on this site claim 30hz, altho whether the sub really gets that low isnt a cert.....but the same goes for the one you mention....

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/acatal...stems_173.html

there are a few others listed there around the £80-100 mark....they list the freq on most...i'd stick to the ones saying 30hz or 35hz as their lowest figure......most of these systems will go as loud as one another generally....dont pay attention to the wattage differences, they vary how they measure it...lol

Knyght byte is right to look around for the lower level......the logitech's are a steal!! For £75 they are awsome!! Well lets put it this way you cant put them on full when sitting at your desk. Why?? CUASE YOU WANT HAVE ANY EAR DRUMS LEFT!!! The subwoofer with the logi's is massive!! Weighing quite a lot!! And its port just keeps on chuking all that bass out untill you get bored of having yur desk viabrating like a massager!

You'll never go wrong with logitech stuff and they have fantastic customer support.

I bought a Logitech bluetooth keyboard and mouse 4 years ago and the hub died a few months back so i rang them to ask if it was possible to get another hub as keyboard/mouse where fine, they said we are sorry or product has let you down just bin it and there will be a new MX5000 keyboard and laser mouse in the post for you tomorrow free of charge it was even a free-phone number

Well it will eventually go distorted when it simply just dosnt like it. My logi sub infact actually rattles against the mesh covering the woofer cause the woofer is moving so far out it hits the mesh!!!. Thats the point where it cant take anymore but trust me that point is loud!!

Funny enough I brought mine out from spain in Alicante cause I was round my nan's and wanted a sound system. I took it back in a big bag and let me tell you something. Never again!! i felt ever so slightly crippled!! However PC world would be the best place to go and pick up these beasts in my opinion. They are £95 in there though.....So either pick them up or get them delivered! (pick them up if I was you, be able to enjoy them quicker)!!

logitech do have a good name, my kb and more importantly my mouse come from them (G15 and G5 combination, rock hard!!)......and since Videologic took a step back, logitech generally own the speaker market (altho the Creative Gigaworks 7.1 is a force to be reckoned with if you want full surround...lol).....

my only reason for suggesting the Altecs as an alternative was that Altec have a good name for the music side of the sound.....i know in more recent years a few of their systems have suffered on the cheaper levels.....but i had one of their quality 2.1 setups a number of years ago, and it wasnt until my ex-g/f knackered them by tying the cables tightly around the speaker once during transit that they finally gave up......i ran them for years at loud volumes without any problems, and the sub, same as the set i linked to had a 6.5in driver in the sub.....amazing how low the sound went....obviously not a patch on my REL, but then for under £100 what can you expect?...lol

If you live in London, get yourself to a PC World store, usually they will have some you can listen to set up, take an MP3 player with a 3.5mm-3.5mm and a 3.5mm to stereo RCA cable with you and hopefully they'll let you try the Logitech, not sure if they'll stock the Altec tho.......they may not let you try them.....but its one of the few places you'll have a chance...lol

only downside is i'm not sure how much they'll charge, i doubt it'll be much more, probably the same as the online sites incl postage will charge....

edit: btw, yes, if you turn windows volume plus player volume up to full, then put the subs volume up full, most likely you risk damaging it.....all you need to do is turn your volumes up until the distortion sounds bad rather than just not good......the distortion level on these speakers is pretty high in comparison to real hifi gear....so you need to account for that.....
