Upgrade from old Linn Index

Hi, I currently have Linn Index ll speakers that cost around £300, maybe 15 years ago or more. I'm wondering roughly how much their modern equivalent would cost and secondly, what price range I should look at to get a significant improvement in sound quality. Just looking for a starting point really, from which to do some research followed by demo. Amp is a Rega Brio 3. Maybe that would need upgrading as well if I went for better speakers? Thanks.
