Orbitsound T12 : Anyone using or had ?

I have a yamaha 101 sound bar .For what it is and its size etc, its very good.
BUT.... i listened to a t12 today and was shocked at how much better it was !
And it CERTAINLY offers a far better "stage" the 101 is VERY VERY 2.1 and offers no surround sound .Do not need a lot of base (live in a apartment )

Only issue i can see is the Orbit only has one digital input
Not sure if it will work with my Pioneer plasma which seems not to feed the sound from our sony Bluray via a HDMI into the TV and then out via a single Optical . Maybe i need to change a setting???

all help needed !

hey there!

I have a T12 v.2 and I would say its a 7/10...

Creates a good surround affect but the sub is a little boomy!

Music via the ipod connection is not so good.

Put the £250 towards a better system in opinion.

Also the sub looks and feels cheap ! Something is right and wrong about it
I am not sure about its dimensions and iPod dock on top
But ....it does offers better sound stage than my Yamaha 101
If I can get one for about £150 on eBay I might go for it ?

The Orbitsound T12 got 3 starts from CNET - See link for review. The only gripe is the sub-woofer can sound too boomy.

A friend of mine has one... it has an impressive amount of sound from such a small package, it's family friendly and I thought the connectivity was reasonable... however, i think sound quality lets it down overall. The bass and treble can be tweaked via the remote and turning the bass down helped a bit. It's nicely in that middle ground for massively outperforming speakers in a TV but being nothing like the performance you'll get from traditional setups.

I think John Lewis stock them and they are pretty good with quibble free returns - assuming you are in the UK.

I wonder if there is a issue...

why is the market flooded with "re furb'd " T12's ?

would have to play with the sub to stop it booming . maybe fill the port a bit etc?
