I'm sure its lovely But I really don't want to spend much more than £300. The RSW12 is about £600ish if I'm right?

Has anyone out there heard (or owns) the follwing subs with their Radius?

MJ Pro 50 Mk II
BK Gemini or XLS 200
Rel Quake
MS 309i
Wharfedale Diamond SW150

I was thinking of a matching R360 sub for my system, but quite a number of posts suggest that this isn't the one to go for? Thoughts?

I notice that the MJ Ref 100 is recommended several times on this thread, but is over my preference stick at below £300. I was wondering about the MJ PRO 50 Mk 2 instead. Would that be a good match for the Radius?

My room is 4m x 4.5m, and will be quite bare, with wood floors. Also I'll be using it for stereo music at least 50% of the time. So most important to me is tight, well controlled, quick, bass, and crucially one which integrates well with the MA speakers, and won't sound too boomy and uncontrolled with the wood floors. Something with a light, deft touch would be ideal.

The MJ PRO 50 Mk 2 has been recommended to me by couple of kind folk over on the subs board, but I'd appreciate any recommendations from the Radius people on this thread too.

The BK Gemini is equivalent or slightly better then the Quake or MJ Pro 100.

So for price/performance go for the Gemini or XLS200DF!

The MJ Pro 50 is too weak!

Thanks. That is helpful - I was veering towards the BKs and what you've said certainly confirms what I've read elsewhere.

Can you (or anyone) confirm though: When you say the BKs have better "performance", does this mean "more, and deeper bass"?. If so, then it may not be quite what I'm after. I want controlled, tight, bass reproduction that will back up stereo music well.

I've read that the MJ Pro 50 Mk 2 does that quite well.

Would you still say the BKs are the better bet than the MJ?

And if does come down to the two BK models, which one will give the more tight, well controlled sound? (I know the XLS200DF will give deeper, louder, bass, but I wonder if it is as tight and fast and integrated as the smaller Gemini?)

Any thoughts?

Thanks again for all your help

Re: Monitor Audio Radius

The Quake/Gemini/Pro100 are similar, advantage to the extra power and better price of the Gemini.

Everyone is very good.

I've had the Pro100 and Gemini in my 4.5 x 4.8 room.
I opted for the Gemini price, and slightly extra power.

If it was today, maybe the XLS200DF. Allways downfire (DF).

Re: Monitor Audio Radius

Gemini looks a good bet for me then!

I don't think I need more any bass than it will provide (my room is 4.5m x 4m and has wood floors).

Can't wait!
