Biwirable speakers and jumpers

Can you cause any damage to a speaker if you take off the brass jumpers and don't biwire them? Obviously without the jumpers you only get high or low frequencies and the speaker sounds cack.

Shouldn't be a problem. Currently we're building up prototypes of the Performance Model 6 (triwireable) and one of the "quick test to see what's ok" actions is to test each set of terminals in independently.

Thanks for that. I picked up the 905 on the cheap and found out the previous owner had removed the jumpers and used the speaker for a year without them. Although the speaker works fine, I was worried that there may have been some possible damage.

I don't know if this is relevent but if you don't have biwire cable and your missing the binding plates you can use a small length of speaker cable to join the High and low frequency binding posts together (no more than about 2 inches of cable required). basically Bi-Wiring on the cheap. Gives the same results.

Thanks for the tip Knightshade. I'd already done a search on the 'net and found that you could do what you mentioned I've ended up biwiring the speaker anyway.
