Arrow These setups?

Guru's!!

I'm looking for 5.1 speakes for my new AVR300, rather the amp is and I'm paying the dosh

The amp purchase was for stereo more than AV as there's no room for 2 dedicated systems. I could push for a full blown speaker setup, floorstanders+Sub but the rears would have to be on the walls.

I've looked at the folowing packages:-

EVO 3 (substitute rears for Bipoles)
Monitor's Bronze B4's (substitute rears for Bipoles)
Radius, either 90's + 180 +360 or 270's + 180 + 90's + 360
KEF KHT 5005.

I'm aware that Sat+Sub systems are 'ok' for stereo and the better performance comes from a full blown system, it's just the space and placement issue.

Thing that gets me is that the EVO and B4 package is 2-400 less than those Sat+Sub systems, and sound worse?

Thoughts and recommendations welcome

If you want something compact and musical see if you can find a set of Castle Compacts to demo.

a new thing i tried and found very succesfull
Tried with KHT2005 but KHT5005 would be better i'm sure!!
Use Kef Q4 (Available in silver!) floorstanders as front the the rest of the speakers from the kit for other duties! Worked excellently no major problems with mismatching as they use similar (possibly the same) drivers!
and the 2005 option retails at £1200
5005 at £1600

Are you still using the 2005 centre with the Q4's? If so, do you notice any difference in the sound quality when panning across the fronts?
