Looking to get shot of these unwanted and non-returnable (too long since purchase) but wonderful speakers.

Bookshelf RX1 (pair) £365
Sub RXW12 £675

All in Natural Oak, Brand new in their unopened boxes.

I live in Trowbridge, Wiltshire if a pickup is desired or they can be sent for around £15 via courier.

Any takers?

Hi, I may be interested in the RXW12 assuming it's still available? I just have a couple of questions.

You say these speakers are still brand new in (sealed?) boxes? Could you let me know how long you've owned them as this would obviously impact on any warranty.

Do you know whether the warranty goes with the speaker or with the receipt? If it is with the receipt would you be able to provide it, or at least a copy of it?

Thanks

Well I can tell you that they were recieved from Sevenoaks mid March. I'll ask about the receipt but I didn't buy them so I don't know if I'll be able to get it yet. In any case - and pardon my ignorance - I'm not sure what you mean about the warranty being with the receipt or speaker?

Sorry, what I meant by the warranty being with the speaker or receipt, Monitor Audio would know when they put the sub together and they therefore might honour warranty according to that, whereas some places want proof of purchase i.e. the receipt, to cover any warranty claims. I guess it depends on whether the warranty claim would go direct to Monitor Audio or in this case Sevenoaks?

This distinction may not be applicable to AV equipment but I know it is sometimes an issue with mobile phones or IT equipment.

When you say you didn't buy them, does this mean you bought them second hand (but sealed) or they were a gift? I'm just asking to clarify incase there might be any warranty type issues in the future - I've been burnt before with other items.

Thanks

Basically a family member brought them but by the time he found out he couldn't keep them it was too late to send them back. He's not too good on the IT side of things so I'm trying to recoup as much of the money as possible. Simple as that, 100% nothing shady. I run a business that thrives from word of mouth and not screwing people over, I would never condone that sort of thing!

I'd imagine the warranty would be with the receipt if it came from Sevenoaks.

I've got to go out for a few hours but will be back on here this evening.

Is there any news about whether you'd be able to provide the receipt? I did call Sevenoaks and although they said that warranty is not transferrable I assume that if the original receipt is provided they can't really argue.

There rear ported though, so sticking with the BX2s, they sound fantastic with the Rega Brio!

Something significantly better than under half their purchase price would be good please, people!
I was hoping to take double figures off of the asking price and not triple.

You can pick it up for £690 brand new with 3 year warranty

http://www.hifigear.co.uk/monitor-au...subwoofer.html

I could push it to £450, that's about it.

If not, good luck with your sale

To be honest I'd rather keep it than loose that amount of cash on it.

What about the RX1's?

I did notice that, there is no up charge for the oak finish though. £450 is my budget, I know you won't shift, I thought I'd just try my luck as you do. Good luck with the sale

I did notice that, there is no up-charge for oak though. £450 is all I can afford at the moment ( my wife will kill me for spending that) especially as we need a new washing machine.

I take it you'll hold out for more so I wish you good luck with your sale

Sorry for the delay, don't seem to be getting notification on my email for some reason :/
I'm really going to need to push for £320. Even if four months of the warranty are up then they are still unused in their original packaging. You're so unlikely to get a deal like that for anything like this with warranty be it 6 months or 3 years. The natural oak appears to be a popular finish as other finishes seem to be much lower priced and the best I can find is £350 on Ebay (new other) but that seems chancy.
C'mon £100 below rrp is a pretty sweet deal for new and the rest sold for much more than this. I'll even pay postage on top.
