X-Fi XtremeMusic problem

The left channel on my X-Fi is distorted slightly, I get a slight crackle in my headphones or through my speakers, I've cleaned the connections and tried a different cable, re-installed the sound drivers and cannot think of anything else to do, is my card dying?

I'm considering ignoring it for a while while I can save up for a DAC magic and use that instead.
