Smile Dogbert's Drivers and Cheap Cards

I've read a lot of threads about "best" soundcard to buy.
One person who keeps popping up is Dogbert, who keeps telling us to just use a cheap soundcard with his drivers.

As i've been after a soundcard with a digital out for a while I thought i'd try.
I purchased a trust soundcard after checking Doberts site for compatable cards.
It cost less tha £20 and had a coax out which is what I wanted.
Dogbert's drivers installed easy.

Now I aready have all my music ripped to my PC in lossless format.

They sound great, I'm well impressed

So if you're after a souncard for playing back your music and your amp has a digital in then just buy a cheap card and give it a go.
You may well save yourself a few quid.
I know it's hard to buy the cheapest bit of kit but sometimes it can do a good job.

Cheers Dogbert your posts have always been very helpful
Thought I should say thank you for all your help.

Dave

Re: Dogbert's Drivers and Cheap Cards

thank you for your very nice feedback! it's always great to get a response from happy users - that warm fuzzy feeling that my stuff isn't completely useless is very encouraging when implementing new features .
well, have fun and enjoy the sound!

Re: Dogbert's Drivers and Cheap Cards

I've just ordered a Trust card to try out said drivers...

I guess they will work OK with MP3 stuff as well as lossless formats?

Its going to be used in a MCE pc for TV etc as well- I assume this will be OK too!

Cheers

And hello!

Re: Dogbert's Drivers and Cheap Cards

Dogbert's drivers and his 'dimension' came into sight recently and I am happy they did.
I purchased a Trust sound card [5.1-sc5250]...installed D's drivers and that was pretty much it.
Am truly impressed with the sound and it's rather unusual feel...
perhaps pure?
quite different.
Maybe, have a go and try it out,
For me, it was worth it
