Hi-Def Sound

Ok so heres the deal:

Currently:
CD quality is 16bit / 44.1Khz
DVD quality is 24bit / 96Khz (generally)

Now I have a very large record and cd collection and my opinion is that vinyl sounds alot better than CD, now because of this I record all of my favourite records onto my computer (you' be surprised how much better the recorings sound than music taken from CD's).
I record @ 32-Bit / 96Khz (sometimes 192Khz) Wave and achive a very good quality sound through some very good equipment.

What I want to know is as Hi-Def Audio is introduced are these recordings going to become low quality compared to the hi-def format. (32-bit / 96K ain't perfect, its not far off like but to us picky people...).

What is the new hi-def format?
Is it just going to be a higher quality way of sampling wave?
Or an entirely new way of recording sound (i.e. a different way of converting analogue to digital, you never know what they may invent).

Any input greatly appreciated
