NO Sound through hdmi audio

Hi all, I'm trying to connect pc laptop, which is a dell inspiron 1525 to my lg tv which is a 32lg3000. The problem i'm having is that when i connect it via hdmi, i get a good picture, but no audio.It is connected via spdif out. I have emailed lg and they said it doesnt support this, but i dont see why it wouldn't. ANy help much appreciated, thanks

fisr off, the dell wont be able to pass sound over hdmi so you'll have to use another connection for audio. either optical/coaxial spdif or analogue.

with that out of the way, are you saying you are trying to connect the spdif output of your laptop to the tv? im pretty sure the tv doesnt have an spdif input. it might have an output, but connecting the laptop's otuput to the tv's output wont work. can you clarify the spdif comment? your post isnt very clear about that
