? Two soundcards = two sets of speakers?

Hi there.

I wonder can anyone enlighten me:

I have my main pc in the lounge - it has my music library on it. I have installed a xfi music soundcard, and sound is output through that to a crappy set of 2.1 speakers - used for pc work, and through that and on to the aux-in on an amp with decent speakers for hifi duties.

This means that I have to turn off the amp normally whilst using the pc, and turn down the crappy speakers to listen to music.

Is there a way to send the pc noise through the onboard soundcard to the crappy speakers, and music (run by mediamonkey) to the amp?

Thanks in advance

K.

Start > Settings > Control Panel > Sounds And Audio Devices > Audio > Use drop down box to find Onboard sound device.. > Apply

Not familiar with Mediamonkey but I expect there is an option in there to use your Xfi.

I have similar setup, use onboard sound for games etc and use Souncard for my music listening through amp.

Just make sure you have onboard sound enabled in BIOS.
