Sound card advise - HCPC analogue out

Currently using spdif to my amp, have recently got a blueray player and guess I need to use the analogue out on a soundcard to the ext in on my amp to be able to listen to truehd soundtracks....

With what I need the soundcard for, is there any recommendations?

Would a £18 creative audigy 7.1 card sound any different to a £124 Auzentech card when just using analogue outs?

I assume the card will take the seperate channels and my amp ust amplify them?

Any issues I should know about before parting with my cash?

Hi wilders

Been searching for some answers myself and it looks like truehd isnt possible at the moment, may be better off waiting for the new g45 chipset mobo which has hdmi out and is meant to solve all our htpc probs, we shall see

Re: Sound card advise - HCPC analogue out

Well, I've bitten the bullet, bought the auzentech card, read some good reviews....thing is, my amp cant do truehd anyway being a 3801 denon, so dd5.1 or dts is the best I've got - admittedly they sound excellent so i'll be happy enough using the analogue out to the amp.

Will update with my results....

Re: Sound card advise - HCPC analogue out

Got the card, hooked up 3 decent analogue cables from the ext-in on the amp to the soundcard, it sounds the absolute nuts....ive only tried 1 film (spiderman 3) so far but to my ears this sounds better than the old spdif solution i had before.....

Im impressed....
