Amilo Li 1718 - Realtek High Definition - Audio Mic Troubles

Hello everyone,

I'm about to pull my hair out! I cannot get my microphone to work on my Amilo Li 1718 laptop. I bought myself a Philips SBC MD110 karaoke mic. I'm running Vista.

It all plugs in fine, but here's the problem. I have to SCREAM into the mic to get the smallest sound out of it. I've adjusted every sound property possible. The mic itself is fine, it works on another computer. I have a Realtek High Definition onboard card.

I've searched online for help - It seems this is a common problem with the Realtek HD. However everyone seems to have a different interface than my Realtek sound manager. I expect mine is for this Amilo series only. I even looked on the Fujitsu website and their PDF for Realtek isn't like my interface at all.

I've downloaded new drivers - to no avail.

Any help or advise would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks in advance.
