HD and Master on PC? is it possible with this..

Focusrite Saffire Firewire Audio Interface
6 behringer active B2031 monitors
1 behringer active B2092 sub

i was hoping that i would create a HD playback capable system using these above

but as i continued reading the forum there seems to be a HTPC problem..
now
my questions are will i be able to play Bluray from my computer to my Samsung HD ready TV ?
and will i have HD sound coming out of the above mentioned ?
what do i need ?
i understood that Hd sound is not going cause of limitation on bandwidth?
well the above audio interface is firewire boasting 24bit/192khz witch from what i understood would be enough..

My other possible setup
would be
Azuentech Prelude
Onkyo 605
b&w 68x series

Which one should i go for?
are the monitors mentioned above suitable for movies ?

..

Re: HD and Master on PC? is it possible with this..

Not possible at the moment due to the AACS licensing and prevention of the secure path being compromised by hackers.
Therefore everything is down mixed in software.

You can do some things over analogue but things are VERY awkward at the moment. mostly done over analogue.
It isn't a bandwidth thing. It is more to do with the copyright protection DRM.
It doesn't really matter what equipment that you buy. Nothing can output, or send the High definition audio to the amp.

Hopefully this summer will see things change???

Will have to wait and see.

You can output using multichannel analogue out from soundcard into amp, the frequency/res is down sampled from 96hz to 48hz. but this is not really a problem as you still get the full bitrate of the HD Audio just use power dvd ultra and a soundcard with a good DAC eg.. Prelude

I don't really know much about standalone speakers... never had any... I use the Logitech Z-5500, but i'm sure a good amp and standalones could beat it
