Michrophone into pc - possible to listen to output ??

Hi wonder if anyone can help me out with a bit offadvice on the following ?? have recently set up a dvr card and a couple off indoor cctv cams, both cams have audio pick up facilties, have the lead from one off the cameras going to the audio input jack on the rear off the pc ( michrophone input ) this way I can both record video and sound from the camera, now want to configure the set up so that I can listen in on the cameras audio without actually having to record it first, just wonder how I go about setting this up ??

leaving the ccctv side off things out off it just now, baically if you had a michrophone attcahed to your pc, how would you monitor the audio without actually recording it first and then playing it back ??

bit confused if anyone could advise ??

cheers

What sound card do you have? It shouldn't matter but just go to the control panel of the card volume control and uncheck "mute" for microphone. it should work.

Re: Michrophone into pc - possible to listen to output ??

Hi all

Sorry for deviating off the main reason for the OP's post but.......

I'm DJ'ing my first party this coming friday night and am pretty much sorted with everything except for one thing - getting my voice to go through the speaker system!!!

I'm using a PC with a microphone input but can't find any software that will allow me to speak "loudly" through the speakers. Does anything exist? Is there already something in Windows?

Hope you understand what software I require - I just need to make sure people can hear me!!

Cheers all!
