PC Sound to PC Speakers & AV Amp at same time?

Hi, my setup at mo is a basic sound card on the pc and from the audio out port i have installed a splitter which sends one analogue signal to my pc speakers (1m of cable ) and one to my AV amp (20m of cable as its downstairs).

I take it because i am using a splitter (1 out becomes 2 out) then the sound quality is reduced?

Are there any sound cards which have 2 SEPERATE audio out ports hence in theory not degrading the sound?

My AV amp only has spare analogue input ports (red/white) so i`d have to stick with the analogue cables.

Also if i bought a better/more expensive sound card (ive always bought the average tenner jobbies) would there be a drastic improvemnet in sound quality. I listen to mainly music mp3s or movies in prologic.

thanks very much

Re: PC Sound to PC Speakers & AV Amp at same time?

I have found quite a few cards which have these output specs.

Line level out (Front / Rear / Center / Subwoofer / Rear Center) via 3.50 mm minijacks

could the front and rear be used as 2 identical stereo outputs somehow?

I`ll answer my own question as ive solved my problem now and hopefully it may help others.

I have bought a creative audigy 2 zs card. I put seperate 3.5mm inputs into the front and rear sockets, set the card up as 4 speakers and enable stereo surround and it splits teh audio into 2 identical signals into each pair of speakers. job done nicely
