Surround sound through Media PC + Samsung TV?

I need to know if it possible to have a Media PC connected to Creative 7.1 Speakers (S750), but also somehow connect up the optical output from a Samsung LCD (LE40M87) to the speakers.

I have had a look at the manual for the speakers and TV, but it looks like you need some kind of external decoder to pass the signal through. Is there an easier/cheaper option?

It is possible. You'll need something like the Creative DDTS-100, which unfortunatley is no longer being made. It lets you connect multiple audio sources to your existing speakers with a remote to switch between them. They are selling on ebay for £150 -£200.
