Currently in my media centre PC im just using the onboard SPDIF (optical) connection to my amplifier combined with the analogue outputs to my amp to provide 5.1 in films and games. However the soundcard is poor, i get pops and clicks and even breif periods of silence in XP, vista however works fine.

BUT i have an ATI 4670 graphics card which i know supports HD audio LPCM downsampling and passthrough of DTS and DD from videos which support it.

My question is, will Dolby Digitial Live OR DTS Connect work with this graphics card? I wish to simply take my HDMI right into my amp and get 5.1 sound from games and films without messing with settings
