Sony Bravia LCD TV Problem

I have a one year old 32" Sony Bravia tv which is about one year old.
It has been fine until a couple of days ago when I started to get an on-screen message reading 'auto power off will swith your tv off soon'.
I have checked all set-up menus etc for timer and shut off and they are not active, so I am baffled. The tv has been connected via hdmi to a Sony dvd player and I thought it may be a 'Bravia sync' problem so I disconnected it but the message re-appeared.
Does anyone have any ideas please?

Re: Sony Bravia LCD TV Problem

It does but power save is set to 'standard' and timer and sleep timer are set to 'off'.
However, I messed around with various settings and it the message has not come up for the last two hours so maybe its ok...........

Re: Sony Bravia LCD TV Problem

Hi!
I have the exact same problem.
It comes and goes and it's very annoying.

Does anyone know something about it, please?

Whate were the settings you changed that made it disappear?

On mine the message was apprearing every half hour or so, but has stopped now, thankfully.
I don't think I actually changed anything but made sure all power saving, timer and sleep timers were 'off'.

Re: Sony Bravia LCD TV Problem

On mine the message appears each 15 minutes or so.
It appeared for the first time a few months ago and stopped. Then it came back in the last weeks but it stopped again. Now it is doing it all the time.

Re: Sony Bravia LCD TV Problem

Not sure what I can advise you to do since I don't know why mine stopped or when it will be back but it seems to be a common fault.
I bought my tv from Richer Sounds less than a year ago but it has 5 year extended guarantee so if it comes back.....

This problem seems to be surprisingly and worryingly widespread!

Not being funny, but surely 2 or 3 people on a forum hardly counts as widespread ?
