Re: Hotmail on Satio?

You need to setup a new mailbox (similar an example one that is probably already in the phone e.g. googlemail) with the following settings:

Incoming Server (POP) pop3.live.com
Incoming Port (POP) 995 - You must change to this port number
POP-SSL is required set to yes
Username as your e-mail or Live ID (e.g.: example@hotmail.com)
Password as the one you use to log into hotmail.
Outgoing Server (SMTP) smtp.live.com
Outgoing Server Port (SMTP) 25 or 587 - I used 587
You must set the phone to use "Start TSL" in outgoing settings as the security option

Re: Hotmail on Satio?

Hi I've managed to get my Hotmail working on my Satio - more by luck and buggering about, than by any knowledge or skill, but
hey it works & it does send messages (at the moment anyway!) so that's what counts.
Settings are as below

Open Messaging folder

Open your Hotmail mailbox then Options then Email settings
Open Connection Settings then open Incoming email
Username - yourusername@hotmail.com
Password - your password
Incoming mail server - pop3.live.com
Access point in use - Vodafone Internet
Mailbox name - whatever you want to call it on your phone
Mailbox type - POP3
Security - SSL/TLS
Port- default
APOP secure login - Off

Outgoing email

My email address - as it says
Username - yourusername@hotmail.com
Password - your password
Outgoing mail server - smtp.live.com
Access point in use - Vodafone Internet
Security - StartTLS
Port - 587

Back to Email Settings page then
User settings

My name - as it says
Send message - Immediately
Send copy to myself - No
Include signature - No
New email alerts - on
Email deletion - Always ask
Reply-to address - yourusername@hotmail.com

Back to Email Settings page then

Download Settings

Email download - Headers only
Download amount (tap to open) 50

Back then back to Email settings page then

Automatic download

Email notifications - Auto-update
Email download - Disabled

As I say these are the settings currently working for me and I have checked that people have received what I sent. The only
problem I have is that you have to manually check for messages as the push email doesn't seem to work.
Annoying as it was one of the things I upped my package by a fair few quid a month to take advantage of!
Good luck.
