The other day my Tmobile c905 (less than 6 months old) started misbehaving. Firstly the screen started flashing then the theme changed, then it started displaying charcters in chinese.

I switched it off and back on, then it started displaying characters in czech.

Now when i switch it on it displays the following, "cannot charge please use sony ericsson battery". even though its the original battery i got with the phone. Also its now unable to find a network.

I've tried another battery and still get the same message.

I've also tried the sim in a different phone and it works fine.
When I try and charge by usb it fails to charge, but recognises the phone as a usb device.

Has anyone else experienced this and do they know of a resolution??

Looks like it is a firmware issue.
You can flash your phone online using the USB cable provided with the phone.

I have the c903 and iv had the EXSACT problem, do you have any ideas how i can fix it please because iv updated the flash but it still dosnt work :S
Its less than 5days since iv brought it and im with 3mobile.

Mahim,

The steps I carried out were as follows:

1) Charged my battery in another Sony Ericcson phone to ensure it was fully charged to carry out update.

2) Downloaded the latest version of the Sony Ericcson Update service (Sony Ericsson - Support - Softwaredownloads - C905)

3) connected the phone to pc via usb ran update sevice, and it detected a new sw version was available

4) Downloaded software and followed the installation instructions

It took approx 20 mins, then phone was working.

(I'd advise you back everything up on phone b4 carrying out update)

If this fails take it back to 3 and request a new phone (not a repair) as it's barely a week old!!
