23410 network?

Can anyone shed any light on this?I recently changed my T303 from an O2 PAYG to an O2 monthly contract.I got a new sim with my number transferred, but my network is now displayed as 23410 instead of O2-UK.
If I put the same sim into an old Z530i it displays O2-UK as normal. If I put an O2 PAYG sim back in my T303 it displays O2-UK.Is there any way to change the display back to O2-UK with my current sim?

Did you resolve this issue? - exactly same just happened to me )changed from O2 PAYG to Monthly). Went into O2 shop and spoke to a so called "Techie" who said it was the O2 broadcast cell number but he did not know how to change on the Sony. I have a W980. Help.

Re: 23410 network?

After being bounced back and forth between the Sony helpline and the O2 helpline,I seemed to get the response that I would need a new sim card as there is confusion when you put a PAYG number onto a contract sim.But when I put my sim into my old SE 530i it comes up O2 UK as it should,so it just seems to be an issue with certain models.
I'm just living with it.

Re: 23410 network?

The 23410 you refer to is the network code for O2. it looks like from going from PAYG to pay monthy SIMs does not work on the phone you have as the phone will be specifically set up for PAYG SIMs. You should try to get a new phone out of O2 due to this interopability problem!

Re: 23410 network?

The plot thickens here! My phone locked up (screen went black) and I could not do anything with it. Bearing it mind it had worked fine for last 5 months. I tried the normal SIM & Battery removal to no avail. I then hooked up to PC to update the firmware via Sonys update tool - updated fine and worked fine too - albeit the 23410 still showed. I also lost my 6 gb of music and all my settings (annoying but pleased it was back working!).

However, much to more annoyance it did exactly the same thing about 10 days later (the night before I was moving house too so timing was awful). It does appear that the Pay Monthly SIM is causing a problem with this handset. In the interim I have the SIM in my old N96 and no prolems so far. When I get a chance (stil unboxing after move) I will try and do the Sony update again to het the Sony working and will ring O2 to see if they can offer advice.

Will let you know how I get on. Makes me wish I stayed on PAYG though.
