Exclamation SE C905 Keypad problems

Hi.

Our reasonable new handset as developed keypad problems

Basically, the "up" function of the silver square navigation key has to be pressed really hard to make it work and it often activates the left navigation key in error.

The # or space key is also the same. They are almost non-responsive and don't click like the other keys

Our first C905 was sent back unused due to build quality issues and the chap in the O2 shop said the are plagued with problems Is this true?

We spoke to O2 who cannot replace the phone as they're no longer in stock.

I was offered a re-conditioned Tocco Ultra but this lacks HSDPA & WiFi, both of which I use regularly.

A repair will take 7 days but I've lost all confidence in these phones.

What am I to do

Thanks,

Simon

The problems you mention happened to me on 3 handsets i had. After 7-8 C905's (mainly due to the "speaker issue")Orange offered me an upgrade free to the W995. Fantastic phone, much better than the C905 apart from camera.

Id suggest asking to change your handset to perhaps the W995 which has everything that the C905 does and then some!

C905 is a good phone WHEN it works but from my experience thats not too often.

Go to carphone warehouse, the 5 key broke on my sisters she took it in saturday afternoon and they rang on sunday and said it was fixed and ready to pick up we got it and it was fixed. They fix it regardless of where it was bought from aslong as it's in warranty.

Re: SE C905 Keypad problems

I finally got around to taking the phone into O2 in Solihull today. They agreed that the # key and the up part of the square navi key were FUBAR'd so it's back for repair. They'll "fully refurb & update" the phone too so hopefully they'll get rid of the dust trapped in the camera lens.

Fingers crossed....

Meantime, I'm back using my trusty K850i phone which is ergonomically brilliant compared to the C905:D
