Does anyone please know how to stop the Walkman feature of this phone turning itself on everytime I close the thing. Tried looking all over the web but no joy. All I want is to be able to shut the phone and just have the normal time display showing, rather than it being ready to play music (which it will if you do not have the keylock on - not good for battery life).

anyone know how to do this just updated it to ? even if you press the side button to display the time and then open and shut it the walkman starts again i dont want this, is thee no option to have the time and date instead or the walkman part ?

Unfortunately the W980 defaults to Walkman upon closing the phone. If you want the time, then you need to cycle through the external display options usng the button on the side of the phone.
