Sky HD and Sky+ Multi room extension

I have a Sky HD box in the lounge and a Sky+ box in the master bedroom.

I am looking to set up the sytem so that I can view and control both boxes from the 2nd bedroom and also the conservetory.

Ideally I would also like to view and control the DVD and XBox that is in the lounge in the conservetory.

I have looked at some Video senders and have tried one but the qualityis very poor and need help to find the right equipment need.

Any help is appreciated

Re: Sky HD and Sky+ Multi room extension

You do not say what video quality you are looking for. Is RF quality good enough?

not too bothered about quality, doesn't need to be HD so long as it's a clear picture

Re: Sky HD and Sky+ Multi room extension

The Sky boxes signals can be transported over a single co-ax, the problem arises over how many people, simultanously, need to control both boxes. What is your worst scenario?

Re: Sky HD and Sky+ Multi room extension

the worst case senario would be 2 rooms trying to control either box

The conservatory and bedroom2? (I am assuming that if anyone was in the lounge or bedroom1 they would have complete control of their box)

Re: Sky HD and Sky+ Multi room extension

yes, the main rooms will have the primary control of the units. I was thinking that I could possibly just use the magic eye thing but can I split this so that there are 2 rooms that can control the box?

That's the problem - which box? Use of Eyes, in the configuration above, will change both boxes simultaneously.

You could run separate RF feeds from both boxes to both rooms with two Eyes in each room and "cover up" the eye you do not wish to use at any one time, but I suspect this is not what you want.

You may have to lower your expectations of what you want to watch/control from where.......
