What can I do with my spare SKY box?

I've now ordered SKY+ and am therefore going to be left with a 2 month old pace digibox.

Is there anything I can do with it, or is it junk?

Move it upstairs?

Or sell it!

Look on the forums or on eBay for an idea on prices. There are always Sky boxes for sale.

Some people would rather buy yours for say £50 than pay Sky £99 for one.

My Sky+ arrived this morning, installed in the home office by 9am! Quite impressed. Not got the excellent interface of Tivo, but otherwise a nice piece of kit.

Cheers
Marc

I've seen them on ebay, but don't understand why anybody would buy it from me when they come free with a £1 installation.

If I were to move it upstairs, would I not have to pay for a mirror subscription for it to work?

They don't come free with a mirror sub though.

Yes if you moved it you would need a mirror sub to make it work.

I justified my mirror sub (£10) as that is what I nearly would have paid for Sky+ anyway.

Or you can get a Free View card from the BBC and get all the free to air channels (digitally) in another room.

No you can't!

You can get all the BBC channels for free with no card though.

Bummer! I read that you could somewhere, to think of it a friend I just visited had the £100 install which means you do not have to take one year subscription, he had a card from the BBC and was getting quite a few channels, not just beeb?
