Problems with Picture on Sky

Hi,

I recently bought a Panny 32LXD8 TV as a replacement for a really crap M&S 19" effort that I run a standard Sky box through.

I get problems with what can only be described as diagonal "banding" across the screen. It is particuarly apparent on strong bright colours, specifically blue or green.

The problem was there on the old TV but with the new one being so much bigger it is really noticeable.

I am using a crappy scart lead and have ordered a QED P2110 to replace it just uin case. I don't however think the lead is the problem as with my Pioneer DVD player the picture is perfect. It seems like a problem with my sky signal. The signal strength and quailty is good when you look on the box though.

A bloke at work says his mother has the same problem, his father in law is a "TV Engineer" and has declared it "impossible to fix". Hmmmm...

Does anyone have any ideas? I have the sky output set to RGB and the TV set that way as well. I seem to have tried every setting!!!

Cheers.

Mark

Re: Problems with Picture on Sky

Have you Scart control On, on the Sky box?

Any difference using composite instead of rgb?

Re: Problems with Picture on Sky

Yes Scart control is "on"... Is composite with the three separate leads?

New Scart Lead should arrive today so I'll see what that does.

I'm convinced it is interference of some sort. Just strange that it is only there with sky... DVD's are fine, terrestrial TV is fine although looks crap (and I don't have Freeview in my area)....

Re: Problems with Picture on Sky

Try disconnecting the aerial from the TV temporarily to see if there is any improvement.

Re: Problems with Picture on Sky

Ok - new scart lead in use. It's made no real noticeable difference to the picture quality! £25 well spent.

What I have noticed is that the interference is entirely down to the sky box.If I move the sky box around I can almost eliminate it. Is this a fault with my sky box?

Has anyone else had this fault? I might have to get a new box.....
