Hi from a Newbie ... and help !! Re SKY+ and synchronisation

Hi ... and hope you can help

I have a sky+ box here in switzerland.
Yesterday i change over my sony Bravia TV for a new Phillips one. Everything is ok so far ...

I use the sky box as the picture source (via scart) and sound source , via an optical out to a Marantz sr4200 amp. I do not put the picture signal through the amp (I didn't know you could!)

With the old TV, it worked fine ... but now I cannot get the picture and sound to synchronise.
My sky box has no optical delay option (from what i can find)
Altering the "speaker distance" helps but it's not perfect ...
What am I doing wrong and why did a change of TV cause the issue?
Thanks

That just takes me to the sound setting screens
Audio output
volume
Optical output
etc

If i select optical output, I have two choice "normal" or "dolby D" ... there is no choice for optical delay , unless I can select it elsewhere?
Thanks

Apologies. It would appear that optical delay is only an option on the HD box.

Sky+ does not have an audio delay option at all I'm afraid. Your amp might have such a function though.

Re: Hi from a Newbie ... and help !! Re SKY+ and synchronisation

short term answer seems to have to to take out the digital connection out to the sky+ box and go back to analogue phono cables ...
Perhaps not ideal - but no longer makes me feel ill !!

Actually, that didn't work.

But replacing the scart cable has done ... !!
