Help with cancelling Sky

A sky rep turned up at my elderly grandfather's home last night and gave him a speech on how he would need Sky to get TV after the digital switch over and he fell for it

The lady told him he was tied into a 12 month contract is there any way to cancel this now or he stuck with Sky for next 12 months ?

Re: Help with cancelling Sky

I thought that there is a 7 days cooling off period which allows you to cancel within this period, but I maybe wrong.
