Fuzzy EPG from Sky+ on Panny

Hi

I need some advice.

I have a Sky+ Box connected to my Panasonic Viera th42pz80 using a Thor scart to scart cable.

I have noticed for a while that the EPG on the TV is fuzzy with what looks like a shadow of the letters overlapping and other EPG artifacts showing up and causing the screen to look, well, frankly quite annoying.

I have not messed with the settings on the TV or the Sky+ Box and I leave the aspect ratio on the TV on auto so the TV can select the best ratios itself. I have not changed colours or other settings. The TV is about a year old.

I hope someone can explain how I can improve the EPG and maybe even the picture. I am not sure but is this something to do with the resolutions and aspect ratios? I am a numpty on these matters and as usual require the expert help of you guys. Thanks.

On Sky remote, press Services, 4,1 and make sure the Scart Video Output is set to RGB and not PAL. Remember to save new settings if you change it.

Also make sure your scart is plugged into the TV socket at the back of the Sky box, the VCR socket has no RGB output, and make sure the scart socket on the TV is RGB enabled, on my Panasonic only 2 of the 3 sockets are... if you use AV1 that would be fine.

some tvs will only accept an rgb signal if scart control is enabled on the sky box, in the services 4,1 menu.

Thanks guys that has cleaned it up considerably, however there is still a slight shadow on the epg, but the other cr@p has gone and it is much sharper than before - and I also believe the image has improved overall. I could do with some help to get rid of the slight shadow. Any help on this would be gratefully accepted.

This may help with finding the ideal settings

Also,if its a new tv(or not),the out of the box settings are rubbish, make sure you turn off all digital settings/noise reduction etc,as these setting tend to make the picture worse rather than make it better.
