freesat from sky 2nd hand

Is it legal to buy a secondhand freesatfromsky card and use it. How do you explain this to sky when it comes to having to pair the card with your box and they obviously have the original owners name ?

Re: freesat from sky 2nd hand

You don't pair a Freesatfromsky card with the box - no need to, pairing is only required for Sky+ functionality (which isn't possible with Freesatfromsky) and for viewing of the premium channels, Sky Movies and Sky Sports, neither of which are accessible via a Freesatfromsky card.

Re: freesat from sky 2nd hand

Officially no, the card is not transferable and remains the property of Sky Subscriber Services (as printed on the card) BUT as you do not pair a FSFS card with a box noone will find out.

Re: freesat from sky 2nd hand

The only difficulty which may arise is that the second-user card may be activated for different BBC and ITV regions on 101 and 103 than your area.
I don't know how much you're paying but a new one is only £20.

Sorry, just noticed you're in Dublin so you would be unable to obtain a card AFAIK
