Pace TDS470N playback freezes

Following an electrical storm that zapped my Sky+ box so it wouldn't come out of standby I bought a secondhand identical TDS470N on ebay and used Copy+ to transfer the stored programmes form the original HDD in the "fried" box.

However on the bax from ebay from time to time the playback of recorded programmes freezes, especially when fast forwarding to the start of a recorded programme. The only way to watch the programme is to manually enter a start time a couple of minutes past the "frozen" section. Is this an indication of a faulty HDD in my replacement box? If so I can swop the disks over as I believe that the original is OK and that the lightning strike damaged the box's power supply or motherboard?

Thanks

Does your problem occur on all recorded problems or just those that were copied?

[QUOTE=Stevenage Neil;7943301]Does your problem occur on all recorded problems or just those that were copied?

The programmes that were copied were fine, it's new recently recorded programmes that are causing the issue. Most are fine but occasionally the odd one has the freezing issue?

Re: Pace TDS470N playback freezes

I have had a similar problem with my Pace box, however, it only occurred a couple of times, (once during Boston Legal - my favourite programme), and is so rare I tend to ignore it. I always assumed it was either bad weather or something I had done whilst recording.
