Can I add Sky Sports to my current 6 mix subscription?

The reason I ask is that when I go onto the Sky website, I go to add Sky Sports as I obviously just want that as an extra and it wants me to add at least one entertainment mix again, although I've already got it all!

Am I missing something or can't I upgrade?

I pay £21 for all 6 entertainment mixes and I just want to add Sky Sports to my current subscription.

Hello Deano - From times when I've used the website, I've found that it isnt very intuitive, and seems to decide that most people are 'new customers'...very annoying

Sure is annoying. I've just gone through the upgrade process via Interactive and I'm quite disappointed to say the least.

I can only upgrade to Sky Sports 1, Sky Sports 2, Sky Movies 1 and Sky Movies 2, for an extra £24 a month, what a con.

I don't even get Sky Sports 3 & Xtra OR the extra movie channels.

I can add channel by channel though. Add Sky Sports 1 for an extra £9 or £10.

Seems 'new customers' get the best deals as per usual.

Re: Can I add Sky Sports to my current 6 mix subscription?

Using the website, have you tried selecting the package you want as if you were a new customer....6 mixes plus Sports Mix ?

Whatever price that is shown to be is the price you will/should be paying.

I've never used the interactive side of things so can't comment.

I know they've recently started this idea of adding one Sport or Movie channel for £9. That's not bad value.

Or you could try Setanta....3 months @ £6.50 (then £12.99 thereafter...) and there's no 12 month contract either ?

Just a thought.

Re: Can I add Sky Sports to my current 6 mix subscription?

Yeah that's what I done and it said £67!

It obviously added what I pay now (£22 as of September) and £45 for all the channels as a new customer.

Yeah £9 isn't bad but it's now a toss up as to whether I want Sky Sports 1 and 2 OR just Sky Sports 1 as I've seen matches on both I want to watch, got me by the short and curlies to say the least.

Only I can decide I guess.

Re: Can I add Sky Sports to my current 6 mix subscription?

One final Q then - are all the Premier League matches (or, most of them) shown on one channel or another..?

I seem to recall that Champions Lge games were often on SS2.....whereas
SS1 seemed to carry most of the EPL games..

Is that still the case ? or do Sky jumble them up across the various channels?

If, for example, SS2 was to carry the majority of CL games, I might add that channel myself !!

Well the only Champions League games that are shown on the link below are being shown on various channels (including Sky Sports Xtra) and obviously has to be confirmed as to what teams that'll be.

Here's the link as to what they are showing up until 30th September and what channel it is on.

http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,12942,00.html

Most games I'd like to watch are on Sky Sports 1 but as you said (and what I totally forgot about) is if they show Champions League on various channels which was the case last season if I remember rightly.

Hmmm

Re: Can I add Sky Sports to my current 6 mix subscription?

you have to remember that as Sky is paid for in advance, if you upgrade before your billing date you pay for the service up to your bill date and then the month ahead as well. Unless you upgrade on your billd ate your first bill will be proportionately higher.

Yeah it's all sorted now. I phoned Sky and they confirmed I'd get SS1, SS2, SS3 and SS Xtra. I don't know why the Interactive upgrade only mentioned the two (SS1 and SS2 for £9 each)

But yeah, as you said, my next bill is something like £54 as I've got the channels now which is obviously what I want otherwise I would miss quite a few games if I wait until my bill date.

Re: Can I add Sky Sports to my current 6 mix subscription?

...but did you get your £10 that an 'online' upgrade is supposed to give you? I've been trying the last couple of days to upgrade my £21 a month package to the Sports mix and that just tells me my new monthly amount will be £63 a month...barmy!

That's exactly what it done to me.

It 'tried' to charge me twice for the 6 mix subscription THEN charge me for Sky Sports which worked out £67 or something.

I then tried to do it interactively through my TV and it only had SS1 and SS2 for me to upgrade to at £9 each. I then phoned them and was told I'd get all 4 of the Sky Sports channels if I did upgrade, so I just agreed to that.

So if I get the £10 credit then all well and good, if I don't, I don't. It say's on the advert that if you upgrade by the 15th August you'd get £10 credit within 60 days or something, didn't say anything about just online as far as I am aware. It did have a phone number on the advert aswell so it can't just be online.
