Sky+ cable extention

I'm possibly going to be moving my TV to a different location in the living room.
How difficult is it to extend the Sky cable or is it an expert job??

Re: Sky+ cables

Yes, you can buy the F-Plugs, connectors and cable in B&Q.
Just follow the various online guides on how to connect and fit F-plugs such as
http://www.satcure.co.uk/tech/fconn.htm

or if you'd prefer ready made
http://www.satcure.co.uk/accs/page7.htm

Re: Sky+ cables

F-plugs come in two fitting types - the standard 7mm cable and the thinner 4.8mm 'shotgun' cable. The screw in fitting to the Sky box is the same on either.

As you're simply making extensions you'll probably be getting standard cable (7mm), So for your Sky+ extensions (2 cables) the following is needed

4 - F-plugs (standard)
2 - F-plug connectors
+ whatever length(s) of cable required

There's at least three "7mm" sizes according to SatCure.

Correct and all is explained here
http://www.satcure.co.uk/accs/page8.htm

On the other hand the OP was intending to obtain these from B&Q and, unless I'm very much mistaken, would be unlikely to be offered the choice.

Anyway, all's well that ends well with the local sat shop doing the work
