How To Record off Sky+?
I have connected my tv up to my sky box and dvd/vcr player. I am wanting to record off sky and onto dvd. But when i do that,my dvd players recording light stays on for a minute and then it will turn off. And when i go to play to check what its recorded all i find is that its a white screen. Why is this? Please can you help? Any ideas on resolving this problem? As many answers as possible please! thankyou in advance!

Re: How To Record off Sky+?
Scart leads connected from the TV to the Sky+ box and DVD player to the TV. When i go onto sky+ planner and press the copy button, and press the record button on the DVD. It stops recording after 1 minute. I don't understand why. When i press play on the dvd mode it only shows a white screen. Any help?

Re: How To Record off Sky+?
Which scart socket are you connecting to on both the Sky box and the DVD?
What programmes are you trying to copy over (are they copy protected - Box Office and others are)?
What output from the DVD do you see on the TV when you start recording?

Hi,it sounds like you have no scart connection from your recorder to the Sky+ box. Best recording quality is always obtained by connecting to the TV out scart which provides a RGB signal when set to do so in Picture Settings Menu,if your recorder accepts RGB, (Most newish ones do) So you should connect TV scart on Sky+ to input of recorder and output of recorder to a RGB enabled input on your TV, with your recorder in standby the Sky picture should loop-through to the TV when not recording, hope this helps

And just play the Sky+ recordings - rather than use the "copy" function - to record to your DVD recorder.

Guys,im really stuck!!!!!!!! RGB-Isn't that some type of wire? So a scart lead should be connected from the tv to the sky+ the top one. And the bottom dvd recorder with a rgb wire to the tv? Thanks so far guys!

Re: How To Record off Sky+?
Why do you think you can record something from your Sky box on your VCR/DVDR, if you constantly refuse to connect the two things together?
Connect a fully wired scart cable from your Sky+ box TV scart to your AV in on your DVD recorder. Connect a fully wired scart cable from your DVD recorder AV out to your TV (AV1). Select AV1 on the TV. Play a DVD. Make sure you can see the DVD picture playing on the television. Eject the DVD. Select AV as the source on the DVD recorder. Do you see Sky on the television? Put a blank disc in the recorder. Press record. Does it record (and continue recording for more than a minute)? Press stop. Press play on the DVD recorder. Does it play back the Sky programme you have just recorded? If it does, congratulations.
Even though you have lied to us and told us that you have had two pieces of kit connected together when you blatantly haven't, and even though you have refused to tell us what model of DVDR/VCR and TV you have (so that we can tell you exactly what scart sockets to connect the individual pieces of kit to), and even though you made some weird suggestion about connecting both pieces of kit directly to the television but not connecting them together, we have managed to instruct you how to record from Sky to DVDR/VCR.

More like Sky+ TV scart socket to DVD recorder input scart & DVD output scart to TV.
And then to record to DVD you play the movie and recorder from the correct scart socket on the DVD recorder , typically AV2 or L1.
