How to replace my Sky box with Sky + box

I have aquired a Sky+ box and card.
I have Sky+ downstairs and standard Sky multiroom with sports package upstairs.

What do I need to do exactly to get the Sky+ box to work in place of the upstairs box? Will Sky want any more cash off me?

Thanks

Re: How to replace my Sky box with Sky + box

I've done a fair bit of reading up now so I may be sorted.

I have a quad LNB on the mini dish so take it I just need to connect new cable from the LNB to the Sky+ box aswell as the cable that is already in place.

Then.........put in my Sky card and ring Sky in order that they can 'pair' it to the Sky + box.

That's it ?

Re: How to replace my Sky box with Sky + box

In the meantime you can run the Sky+ off a single feed, albeit with limited functionality (can't dual record or record one watch another). There's a number of threads here about setting dummy recordings to do this. To avoid drilling another hole in the wall, you may want to replace the single cable with shotgun cable. www.satcure.co.uk have a number of technical guides to assist.
