Question Sky+ with no subscription

If I upgrade to Sky+ next month with the July offer, as I already have two packages, so will only continue to pay £15 per month , what happens if/when I cancel my packages, what exactly would I have that is different to the standard Sky box?
Did I read somewhere on here that the package prices are going to increase in September ...any ideas where can I confirm this?

I will of course still have a Sky+ box, I understand I will not be able to record but what will the Sky+ box provide different to a standard Sky box, if anything?

Re: Sky+ with no subscription

Just thought of something else, does anyone know if Sky+ and HD come to that, have the second TV output so I can still use my TV Link for Sky upstairs?

Re: Sky+ with no subscription

I know a SKY+ box has a RF2 out for TVLink. But what is thepoint of a SKY+ box if it does not record.

Thanks for info on RF2 out for TV Link
I know you can't record without a subscription but just wanted to know what advantages the Sky+ had over the standard Sky box if I cancelled my subscription in the future?

Re: Sky+ with no subscription

The only differences over a current standard box are

1 s-video out - only found on early Grundig standard boxes AFAIK
2 Digital audio out (TOSLINK)
3 No programme reminder (or autostart) facility in the planner so difficulties with using external recorder

Programme reminder is there (just press select instead of record)

Not sure about autostart though as I don't know what it is. Presumably not needed as the box does the recording.

RDB

Back on topic...I've currently got Sky+ with no channel subscription. I currently pay £10 p/m for Sky+ only. If this gets waived, great. If it gets waived and the Sky+ stops recording, I may as well get a Freeview box with HD recorder and never go back to Mr Murdoch again.

The Sky+ is only being waived for subscribers to any package NOT Freesat viewers who will sill pay £10 per month.
