Sky+ - Standby & Recording Issues

Hi

I have been having problems with both my SKY+ boxes.

It has been ever since AnyTime has been active.

1 - Recording Issues

Before Sky anytime was available i used to be able to record 2 different channel at the same time with no problems. As if it was on another channel it would automatically change to one of the recording channel and happerly record the 2 channels. But since anytime this does not appear to happen. And i am getting lots of recording clasches.

Has anybody had this also? And have they done anything to sort it?

2 - Stand By Problems

Sky have set the boxes to go into auto stand by a night. I think it is a great idea but on both of my boxes when i try and switch the boxes on in the morning they wont come on. I have to switch the box of at the main and restart it. The problem comes when i havent done this in the day and it is set to record something. As it just fails the recording as says it has had a power cut.

Has anybody had this also? And have they done anything to sort it?

I have engineering out and they say they cant do anything as it is a software porblem.

Sky have said just switch both of in the settings. Which is rubbish as i want to use anytime. I have dont reset loads of times.

Can anybody shed any light on this for me

Regards

Andy

Re: Sky+ - Stand By & Recording Issues

try unplugging both boxes and removing the cards, after two minuites reboot the boxes,(plug tem back in)and replace the cards only when asked, this not only reinitialises the boxes but reinitialises the cards as well.If you are not asked to reinserty the cards just do it after two minuites.

yep, loads of people having the same problem. turn the auto standby off (you'll still get anytime)

settings / sky+ setting / auto standby

I have done that. And it is ok regarding the standby problem. As i said in my orginal post. But what annoys me is that i pay gods know how much to sky and they keep releasing updates without them being tested them properly 1st.
