Certain Buttons not Working on remote !!

Hiya

Had the latest Sky + box for a few months now but only decided to try to resolve this issue.

Select and Record buttons to not do anything.

I press the buttons whilst viewing a program but nothing happens apart from a red light come on to confirm that the box received a signal.

Sounds like an issue with the box because the buttons work whilst in the planner.
So i can record, I just cant do it whilst watching a program.

Spoke to technical support and a 15min phone call consisted of me being told to turn the box and wait 2 mins then turn it back on. I was not happy at all.

Engineer is on his way this friday, but was wondering if anyone knows anything i can try ??

Re: Certain Buttons not Working on remote !!

It is either a duff box or a duff remote.

The power on/off suggested by technical can often clear this sort of problem - after all the box is a specialised computer with two tuners and that is all. Often software gets corrupted and power resets will clear the problem if not you'll have to wait for the engineer unless you can borrow another Sky+ remote that is working which will only tell you whether the remote or the box is faulty.
