Thumbs down Amstrad A2P0J44 - Problems with 2nd input??

Hi All

I have had a look on past threads and can't really find much info to help me and boy do I need help before the sky+ box gets launched through the lounge window.

Currently I have the system as above running on 1.31 B03 with s/w 5.02.f

The problem I am experiencing is that LNB2 shows not locked and no signal level, however when I swap the cables over on the back of the box the fault still shows on LNB2.

When I goto record a program but then try to change sky channel, the banner for the new channel appears but the audio from the recording channel can be heard, and all I get picture wise is the blue screen of death!!!aagghhh.

Plus my recordings seem to be suffering from blocking, if I do manage to get onto a different channel whilst recording. Does this point to the HDD on its way out?

This all seems to have coincidentaly come about when Sky kindly added the anytime TV and auto off, both which are now disabled on my system.

And, yes I have contacted sky and been offered an engineer for a fee, yeah right, after the quality of the guy who installed the system in the first place I would rather trust you guys off a forum then get the local engineer with horse, stetson, stirrups and 6 shooter back over my door threshold!!!!

John Wayne aint got a patch on these bunch of "yee hahs"

Please help me............

It is either a failing/failed hard disk or tuner 2.

Unhappy Re: Amstrad A2P0J44 - Problems with 2nd input??

Cheers for the info, just as I suspected. Is there any painful way round this or is it a case of purchase a new box, the current one is out of warranty, and I know what Sky will say!

Thanks
