Sky box as Freeview?

Sorry if this has been discussed before but I couldn't find a thread about it.

If I cancel my sub with Sky can I still use my sky reciever as a freeview box, if so what will I be able to view?

I was just wondering what I would still be able to receive on my existing digibox if I cancel my subscription with sky.
Or should I sell my dish and box and get a standard freeview box to replace them.

Ex sky subscription = freesat. Your card automatically reverts to being a ‘freesat from sky’ card. Nothing to do with freeview. No additional kit needed.

As stated above an ex subscription card will revert to acting as a Freesat from Sky card - with the one exception that when/if Sky change their cards/encryption it will not be automaticaly replaced, you will then have to purchase a new card ( at present £20 one off payment and guaranteed for 3 years minimum)

Just remember that whilst you get BBC, ITV and the Five channels, you do not get More 4 and E 4 (the Channel 4 Digital channels) as you would on terrestrial freeview because Sky have included these on their basic pay package.
