Help! Sky + recording issues...

Hi Guys!
I have a problem with recording on sky +. The picture and especially sound quality is appalling when the programme is recorded. It seems fine when the programme is watched "live" but it seems to get worse if 2 are being recorded at the same time. It is rather frustrating as it defeats the purpose of sky + and it's no fun reading subtitles!
Anyone good at fixing this? Sky wasn't very helpful when I contacted them, nothing such as turning the system on and off and repositioning wires in and out seems to work which seems to be their only answer to things. Oh and to call back if things are not working...only to do the same thing again.

Any help would be appreciated. I have an amstrad box.

Not sure what this could be, perhaps something to do with the Hard drive. It seems that the signal being recieved is fine, only when you play back something thats you have recorded... so it must be something after that stage. How old is the box? If its under warranty I would ask for someone to come and take a look.

It's only a couple of years old...I think you might be right. I suppose I'd have to get the guy out.
Not sure I want to pay SKY any more money.
