Hard drive update cooling fan issue.

This is my first post so keep the flames down please poeple

I've had a Amstrad Sky+ for 2 years with no problem at all. I've been thinking of upgrading the hard drive for a while, which I did recently with a old drive I had lying about. Everything was fine except the drive itself was to noisy and the cooling fan started. (the first time I've every heard it) I removed this drive replacing the orginal which again worked fine except the cooling fan ran continually. Today I upgraded the drive with the highly recommended Samsung HA250JC which again works fine, but yes you've guessed it, the cooling fan is on constantly.

Now you may think this isn't a problem because the fan is quiet. Well not mine...It drowns out the passing jumbo jets.

Vendilation around the box is fine - as I said I've had no problems in 2 years.

Any body got any sugestions?
Cheers,
Papcx

Re: Hard drive update cooling fan issue.

Just replace the old fan for a newer quieter one.

Cheers, Franc

Re: Hard drive update cooling fan issue.

Thanks for the response Franc,
A new fan was what I thought! Can't understand why I've got the problem now though... 2 years and I didn't think the box had a cooling fan.
Cheers,
Papcx.
