Thinking of getting Sky, a few questions?

Hi all, sorry if this has been covered but here goes...

I'm thinking of getting sky+, but buying the box elsewhere and paying for the subscription (£10 pm I think). I don't have sky at the moment and will get their basic package (standard sky box) and was wondering what will I need apart from the sky + box to get sky+? Would I have to still pay the installation fee (£60)? Will I need other hardware? I understand that the subscription will provide 2 feeds to my house, will it be just a matter of pluging the sky+ box in? I've phoned up Sky and they said unless I buy the box from them they won't setup another box.

Many thanks for your help.

You didnt specify on many details. Have you already got a Sky dish outside your house and the cables running to the tv from the dish waiting to be plugged in?

I do not have a dish or anything as I've never had sky at this property before. This is a brand new install.

Re: Thinking of getting Sky, a few questions?

If i were you i would see what deals Sky will give you. You may get it free for a few months. They may even give you a cheap install. Then a friend could recommend you and get £30 M & S vouchers (Pal, Buddy, Mate) for both of us.
Give them a ring and see, it may work out cheaper, at least you will know where you are getting the equipment from and if you are lucky you may even get a Pace box.
